As we all use painkillers in our daily life to kill pain instantly. But do you know the painkillers you are using can be very dangerous to your health.
There are two types of drugs which are used by us. First one are over the counter drugs or OTC drugs and second are prescribed drugs. OTC drugs can be obtained easily from chemist shop without any prescription. But prescribed drugs can be only used on the recommendation by the doctor.
There are various examples of both these OTC and prescribed medicines. OTC drugs include Aspirin, Tylenol , Ibuprofen etc. The prescribed drugs include examples of Morphine, Vicodin, codiene etc.
There are three types of painkillers:
1.Acetoaminophen
2.Non steroidal anti inflammatory drugs
3.Opiods
Acetaminophen:- There are 600 OTC drugs which come in this category. Vicodin and Tylenol (Paracetamol) comes in this category. They are normally taken to treat fever, sore throat, muscle ache etc. If taken in excess causes liver toxicity, brain inflammation, serious skin reactions, hormone disruptor, inhibits body's ability to process toxin, causes cell death and when taken with alcohol causes damage to the kidney by 123 percent.
NSAID:- These include examples of Ibuprofen and Aspirin. They are used to treat arthritis, lupus and to decrease inflammation. However, excessive use of them causes stomach problems, kidney problems, high bp, fluid retention and other allergic problems.
Opiods:- They are also called as narcotics and are used to treat moderate or severe pain. When they are taken with alcohol, can cause the death of the patient. Many americans die because of the opoiod overdose who are below 50. There are various kinds of side effects of it too such as constipation, mental fog, nausea, drowsiness, dizziness and respiratory depression.
Opoiods actually act directly on the CNS of brain of the taker and releases dopamine from it which helps him to feel high and ecstatic.
BEST PAINKILLER:- The patients who are suffering from high bp and heart problems should take Tylenol which is also called as paracetamol. However excessive intake of it can cause various problems too. About 1000mg to 3000mg of it is safe when taken. But dose over 4000mg is dangerous and can cause death. So painkillers are easy to get into but hard to escape.
